Egypt's GDP is $551.4 (in billions). Most of Egyptians are employed in the agriculture industry (about 14 percent) this includes growing corn, rice, wheat, cotton, barley, and fruit. Most of all farming is taken place on the Nile, because of the fertile soil surrounding. Besides farming tourism is a major industry in Egypt

Government
Egypt has a republic government, which means people vote for representatives.
The head of state and country is president Abdel Fattah el-Sisi. Abdel Fattah el-Sisi is also the Supreme Commander of the Armed Force. The head of government is prime minister Ibrahim Mehlab.The president appoints the prime minister,and the members of the Shura Council.
Egypt's citizens take part in many protest asking for democratic and economic reforms. Many of these protestors called for the resignation of former president Mohamed Morsi.
Freedoms of assembly, association, expression, and press are frowned upon. Many people worry that their rights are not completely protected by the government. so Egypt held their very first free election, and the turnout was a success. People can now vote at age 18 or above.
